Lab data
Sour Diesel potency: THC, CBD and terpenes from 1,071 lab tests
In 1,071 state lab tests, Sour Diesel flower had a median total THC of 21.68%, with the middle half of results between 19.00% and 25.30%.1 CBD is negligible, and β-caryophyllene is the leading terpene, ahead of limonene and β-myrcene.1

How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 19%, AllBud 26% and Weedmaps 17–26%. High Times gives 19.50% as Sour Diesel’s highest lab-tested THC at one of its Cannabis Cups (San Francisco, 2012).2,3,4,5 Seed sellers advertise 17–20% (Humboldt Seed Organization’s Sour Diesel #2), up to 19% (Royal Queen Seeds), 21% (ILGM), 22% (Crop King) and up to 26% (Barney’s Farm).6,7,8,9,10
In state lab results, the middle half of Sour Diesel flower tested between 19.00% and 25.30%, so Leafly’s 19% sits in the lower half of results and the 26% figures from AllBud and Barney’s Farm in the top quarter. 26.3% of tests reached 25% or more.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Maryland (598), Washington (159), Nevada (114), Michigan (79) supply most tests, and Maryland alone supplies 55.8%. No matched tests come from New York, where the strain began. Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 25.3% of these tests (45 labs in total).
- Terpene medians come from 167 tests with individual terpene values, 109 of them from Nevada labs. Maryland reports only total terpenes, and Washington, Michigan and Hawaii report none.
- We matched names strictly: related names such as "East Coast Sour Diesel" (93), "AJ Sour Diesel" (50) and "Super Sour Diesel" (153) are excluded and counted, along with crosses, and duplicate certificates are removed.
