People most often describe Sour Diesel as energetic, uplifted and talkative, with a fast-acting, cerebral high rather than a heavy body feel. Dry mouth, dry eyes and paranoia are the most-reported downsides.1,2,3

Energizing or sleepy?

Mostly energizing. Leafly places Sour Diesel on the energizing side of its calming-to-energizing scale, AllBud says many people choose it at the start of their day, and Weedmaps says users describe a fast, energetic rush.1,2,3 Royal Queen Seeds is the outlier, listing its seed version’s effect as clear and physically relaxing.7 Reports vary partly because versions and growers vary (see genetics).

Why two batches can feel different

Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 15.73% THC and one in ten above 27.76%, and state medians ranged from 16.37% in Hawaii to 25.59% in California.8 Leafly’s lab partners also found three distinct terpene types sold under the name, and related entries such as East Coast Sour Diesel and AJ’s Sour Diesel are listed separately by Leafly.9,10,11
